The Warehouse Supervisor is a hands-on leader who is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing items for receipt, shipment and storage in our Indianapolis, IN Warehouse.
This is 3rd shift Sunday thru Thursday 11:00 pm to 7 AM
What you will do...
• Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
• Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
• Determines space requirements and position of shipment in trucks and lays out position of shipment.
• Inspects loading and unloading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.
• Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies appropriate personnel for repair.
• Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
• Issues written and oral instructions.
• Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of team members.
• Maintains morale among team members and resolves grievances.
• Prepares composite reports from individual reports of subordinates.
• Adjusts errors and complaints.
• Participates in inventory record accuracy program.
• Maintains area in accordance with all internal and external regulatory guidelines, i.e., OSHA, FDA, PDA, DOT, etc.
• Responsible for meeting respective shift(s) goals for areas of accountability to include safety, quality, cost, customer service, and people development.
• May perform other duties as required.
• Directly supervises 2 or more employees in the warehouse area. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Directly supervises respective shift(s) of employees in the warehouse area. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, recognition, corrective action, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

What you bring to the table... (Must have)
• Bachelor's Degree; a minimum of 1 year of applicable warehouse supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education or experience is required.
Experience with OSHA, FDA, PDA, DOT, etc.

- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred in the CPG industry
- Forklift Certification
