Position Summary:
Responsible for pulling tanker trucks of various products between Pacific Foods’ buildings. Move finished goods to proper location. Assist in loading/unloading of trucks as needed. Other warehouse duties as required.
Essential Functions
- Move tanker and finished goods between buildings as needed.
- Pick up materials as needed from vendors in the Willamette Valley.
- Other transportation support including farm and landfill loads as needed.
- Performs daily vehicle and equipment checks to ensure safe operating condition.
- Assist with general warehousing activities including loading/unloading trucks and cleaning warehouse.
- Ensure continuity between company trucking, warehousing, shipping, receiving and operating functions.
- Complete accurately shipping and receiving records.
- Operate warehouse equipment including palletizer, stretch wrapper, labeler, and conveyors.
- Ensure food safety and quality protocols are followed.
Secondary Functions
- Relieve warehouse staff for breaks and lunches as needed.
- Assist with inventory control activities.
- Operate forklift.
- Maintain and clean vehicles as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory responsibilities: This position is not supervisory in nature.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Clean driving record and valid Oregon CDL Class A License with tanker endorsement
- Self directed with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Excellent driving skills and teamwork
- Basic mechanical knowledge and/or troubleshooting skills.
- Team player with sound decision making, judgment, and use of discretion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem analysis and customer service skills.
- Ability to push and/or pull up to 200 pounds.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently.
Minimum qualifications:
High School degree or equivalent with some higher education specializing in warehouse operations. Oregon Class A CDL (Commercial Drivers License) with tanker endorsement. Six months to one-year relevant truck driving experience, tanker preferred. Warehouse and/or forklift operator experience preferred.
Working conditions:
Work is performed in on or around a Class A tractor trailer and warehouse environment. The position is potentially subject to long hours, on-call status, substantial overtime, extensive close work, heavy lifting, the use of and exposure to hazardous materials and constant standing. The noise level is usually moderate to loud. Hearing protection is required while in the warehouse/palletizer area when the equipment is operating. Alternative Work Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 3 or 4 days per week
- Front Half Days: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, every other Wednesday 6am-6:30pm
- Back Half Days: Every other Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 6am-6:30pm
- Front Half Nights: Every other Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday 6pm-6:30am
- Back Half Nights: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, every other Saturday 6pm-6:30am
Physical activities require continuous standing, stopping, walking, talking, reaching, feeling, and repetitive motions of hands/wrists, grasping, handling and hearing. The position requires frequent sitting, standing and repetitive motions of the feet.
