As a Powerhouse Mechanic, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing equipment that supports safe, reliable manufacturing operations. Through your expertise in mechanical troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and equipment repair, you will help maximize uptime, improve operational efficiency, and ensure the safe delivery of quality products.
WHAT YOU WILL DO…
- Inspect, troubleshoot, adjust, disassemble, repair, and reassemble mechanical equipment including pumps, gearboxes, bearings, pulleys, belt drives, chain drives, clutches, and related equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical failures to minimize equipment downtime and support continuous operations.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, chain hoists, gear pullers, and other maintenance equipment to perform repairs and installations.
- Safely stop, lock out, troubleshoot, repair, test, and restart manufacturing equipment in accordance with established procedures.
- Change gears, sprockets, and mechanical components to support production requirements and equipment performance.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance activities on production and utility systems.
- Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), JSAs, SDS/MSDS requirements, and PPE standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and support 5S initiatives throughout the facility.
- Properly store tools, equipment, and replacement parts after use.
- Package and prepare repairable components, such as pumps and motors, for vendor servicing when required.
- Participate in shift meetings, safety training, quality discussions, and operational updates.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE… (MUST HAVE)
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Associate Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronic Technology, or a related technical field and a minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance experience; or
- 5+ years of industrial maintenance or mechanical maintenance experience in lieu of a degree.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Experience working with pumps, gearboxes, bearings, drive systems, clutches, conveyors, and rotating equipment.
- Knowledge of industrial safety practices, PPE requirements, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Ability to diagnose equipment issues and perform repairs independently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE… (NICE TO HAVE)
- Associate Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronic Technology, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods environment.
- Experience troubleshooting high-speed manufacturing equipment.
- Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
- Experience with CMMS systems.
- Familiarity with 5S and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with pumps, motors, compressed air systems, steam systems, refrigeration systems, or other utility equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical equipment and rotating machinery.
- Frequent use of hand tools, power tools, lifting devices, and maintenance equipment.
- Exposure to manufacturing noise, varying temperatures, and industrial conditions.
- Required use of PPE, including approved slip-resistant footwear, safety glasses, hearing protection, hairnets, and task-specific protective equipment.
COMPENSATION
Pay Range: $29.65 - $32.32 per hour
Pay is based on qualifications, technical skills, and relevant mechanical maintenance experience.
