The Senior Manager, Site Engineering is responsible for the proper maintenance of all equipment in the assigned area of the plant and for providing maintenance support to those assigned areas as well. Responsible for improving the plant's competitive advantage using preventative and predictive maintenance technologies. Interfaces with hourly and salaried maintenance personnel daily; other departments, and other company resources to improve equipment reliability and production capacity for their assigned area. Manages the Maintenance personnel for their area and the associated expense budgets. Responsible for setting department goals within their assigned departments, administering company policies, providing training to maintenance personnel, and ensuring all safety and OSHA requirements are met.
What you will do…
• Progressive Maintenance: Responsible for the execution of the Progressive Maintenance / Equipment Reliability strategic plan that maintains the plant's electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
Direct all reliability and maintenance activities and programs (preventative, predictive, and corrective) to ensure maximum operational potential.
• People Development: Develops a competent and efficient Maintenance Department workforce. Assures employees have the experience, tools, supplies, and materials required for performing maintenance services. Creates a department staffing model to achieve required business outcomes.
• Department Budgeting: Monitors expense budgets for the Engineering and Maintenance Departments. Manages use of labor and materials to optimize department effectiveness. This role will also have responsibility for the site capital budget.
• Strategic Planning: Develops, recommends, and reviews long-term strategies for expense and capital initiatives relating to the Maintenance Department and the successful operation of the plant. Key to the development of the strategic capital and savings plan for the facility.
• Project Coordination: Oversees and manages major maintenance and project requirements with manufacturing production and engineering, including significant downtime activities.
• Health, Safety, and Employee Relations: Enforces company procedures and policies regarding safety and employee conduct; maintaining a work environment that promotes teamwork.

• Project Management: Overseeing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards. This involves managing risks and unforeseen issues
• Operational Efficiency: Continuously identifying and implementing improvements to enhance operational efficiency, involving complex problem-solving and innovation
• Technical Expertise: Developing and maintaining advanced technical knowledge in maintenance systems, predictive and preventive maintenance, and engineering practices
• Compliance and Safety: Ensuring all maintenance and engineering activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry-specific standards
• Resource Management: Managing resources effectively to meet maintenance demands while optimizing costs, involving strategic planning and budgeting
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborating with various departments to ensure alignment and support for maintenance and engineering initiatives
• Vendor Management: Managing relationships with vendors and leveraging company network size to maximize economies of scale
• Performance Metrics: Monitoring and analyzing performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and achieve organizational goals
• Problem-Solving: Identifying, investigating, and resolving technical issues related to equipment failures and faulty processes. Leading root cause analyses within a short time frame, with limited information
• Change Management: Leading change initiatives and overcoming resistance to organizational change, influencing employees to embrace new practices
What you bring to the table (must have) …
• Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years' experience leading an Engineering or Maintenance team.
• 3+ years managing engineering capital projects
It would be great to have (nice to have)…
• Master's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years maintenance experience.
• Certifications -PMP (Project Management Professional), CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional), SMRP (Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals), or Lean Six Sigma.
• In-depth knowledge of maintenance systems, predictive and preventive maintenance.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, driving performance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Experience in budget preparation, CAPEX planning, and execution.
• Ability to manage resources effectively to meet maintenance demands while optimizing costs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
