The Sanitation Supervisor coordinates the activities of the plant sanitation and food safety programs. Maintains sanitation and food safety procedures, policies, and training.
What you will do...
• Leadership and Compliance: Provide effective leadership to ensure compliance with the American Institute of Baking (AIB) Food Safety Standards, other auditing organizations, as well as FDA, and/or other state and local Food Safety regulatory agencies.
• Custodial and Waste Management: Manage the facility's custodial and waste removal services to ensure cleanliness and compliance with sanitation standards.
• Food Safety Committee: Lead and manage the Food Safety Committee to ensure the Food Safety Plan is implemented and documented effectively.
• Shift Work and Urgent Issues: Work off shifts and weekends as required to maintain sanitation standards and address any urgent issues.
• Chemical Usage and Safety Training: Oversee the sanitation department's chemical usage and safety training. Maintain training and safety certifications as required by Krunchers! and/or by any state or other governmental body.
• Supply Management: Order cleaning supplies and chemicals as needed to ensure the availability of necessary materials for maintaining sanitation standards.
• Budget Management: Maintain a cost-effective sanitation budget to optimize resource utilization and control expenses.
• Inspection and Compliance: Inspect products and equipment for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards.
• Sanitary Procedures: Direct food handlers and production personnel in sanitary procedures as needed to ensure compliance with sanitation standards.
• Cleaning Supervision: Supervise the cleaning of equipment, facilities, and work areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Premises Inspection: Inspect premises for unsanitary practices and conditions to identify and address any issues promptly.
• Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with management and production personnel on sanitation problems and food safety. Recommend changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and product purity.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions/inefficiencies in cleaning processes, such as CIP systems, to ensure optimal performance.
• Knowledgeable of CIP & COP systems and sanitation processes
• Responsible for Bulk system cleaning and maintaining of the Bulk Receiving systems. This is crucial for Plant Operations
• Oversee the disassembling, cleaning, reassembling and sanitizing of all equipment that has been used in production to ensure it meets SSOP standards.
• Coordinate and oversee the following programs: Pest Control, Elevated Work, Respirator, Confined Space, Sanitation W.I., Allergen Cleaning W.I., and SSOP's
• Coordinate the Plant inspection program for the maintenance of sanitation levels
• Provide solutions to management on obstacles within the plant that prevent a more efficient and/or higher quality of cleanliness, such as outdated practices or poor sanitary design of equipment.
• Perform disciplinary actions when required to drive accountability within the department and maintain high standards.
• Develop sanitation strategies unique to a frozen food environment to improve and/or maintain food safety and quality standards.
• Lead DDS (Daily Direction Setting) meetings with the department and prepare the team for high performance organization implementation.
• Facilitate the implementation of CAPA for non-conformances and root cause evaluation from internal and external audits, regulatory audits, environmental monitoring, and cleaning validation methods such as ATP and allergen validation.
• Assist QA and Plant Services Manager in targeting root causes of EMP findings and performing corrective actions on findings.
• Serve as HACCP Steering Team member and fulfill duties as assigned by the Plant Quality Manager, who is the Steering Team Leader.
• Assist Plant Services Manager in developing, implementing, and standardizing the Master Sanitation Schedule and SSOPs. Drive continuous improvement and provide recommendations for new technology and methods to improve cleaning practices. Monitor the performance of established tasks and troubleshoot sanitation and quality issues.
• Support the annual SQF Inspection under Sanitation
• The above reflects the typical duties of this job. Other duties may be assigned as needed, including coverage for the absence of key personnel involved in the management and/or implementation of our food safety and quality systems

What you will bring to the table... (Must Have)
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of Sanitation experience within manufacturing
It would be great if you have... (Nice to Have)
- Bachelor's or Associate's Degree
- 4+ years of Sanitation experience within food manufacturing
- Previous Sanitation Supervisor experience
