The Sanitation Supervisor coordinates the activities of the plant's sanitation and programs in a nightly wet wash environment. Maintains sanitation and food safety procedures, policies, and training.
What you will do…
• Leadership and Compliance: Provide effective leadership to ensure compliance with the American Institute of Baking (AIB) Food Safety Standards, other auditing organizations, as well as the FDA, and/or other state and local Food Safety regulatory agencies.
• Custodial and Waste Management: Manage the facility's custodial and waste removal services to ensure cleanliness and compliance with sanitation standards.
• Shift Work and Urgent Issues: Work weekends as required to maintain sanitation standards and address any urgent issues.
• Chemical Usage and Safety Training: Oversee the sanitation department's chemical usage and safety training. Maintain training and safety certifications as required by Campbell’s and/or by any state or other governmental body.
• Budget Management: Maintain a cost-effective sanitation budget to optimize resource utilization and control expenses.
• Inspection and Compliance: Inspect equipment for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards.
• Sanitary Procedures: Direct machine cleaners in sanitary procedures as needed to ensure compliance with sanitation standards.
• Cleaning Supervision: Supervise the cleaning of equipment, facilities, and work areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Premises Inspection: Inspect premises for unsanitary practices and conditions to identify and address any issues promptly.
• Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with management and production personnel on sanitation problems and food safety. Recommend changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and product purity.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions/inefficiencies in cleaning processes, such as CIP systems, to ensure optimal performance.
• Provide solutions to management on obstacles within the plant that prevent a more efficient and/or higher quality of cleanliness, such as outdated practices or poor sanitary design of equipment.
• Perform disciplinary actions when required to drive accountability within the department and maintain high standards.
• Develop sanitation strategies unique to a frozen food environment to improve and/or maintain food safety and quality standards.
• Lead DDS (Daily Direction Setting) meetings with the department and prepare the team for high-performance organization implementation.
• Facilitate the implementation of CAPA for non-conformances and root cause evaluation from internal and external audits, regulatory audits, environmental monitoring, and cleaning validation methods such as ATP and allergen validation.
• Assist QA and Sanitation Manager in targeting root causes of EMP findings and performing corrective actions on findings.
• Aerial Lift Usage/Working at Heights (Training/Certification will be provided). Ability to work in confined spaces and enforce and follow authorized Lockout-Tagout procedures (Training provided).
• Assist the Sanitation Manager in developing, implementing, and standardizing the Master Sanitation Schedule and SSOPs. Drive continuous improvement and provide recommendations for new technology and methods to improve cleaning practices. Monitor the performance of established tasks and troubleshoot sanitation and quality issues.
Who you will work with...
This role reports to the Manager of Sanitation and will work with multiple teams in different departments, overseeing sanitation within the site.
Schedule
This role is a 3rd shift position with hours of 5 PM - 5:30 AM on an alternating schedule, working every other weekend, as seen below:

What you will bring to the table… (Required Skills)
• High School Diploma/GED required with 2+ years of sanitation and 1+ years supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment OR Bachelor's degree required, with 3 months of manufacturing experience.

Additonal Physical Requirements:
- Working in Sub-Zero Temperatures as Required (PPE Provided)
- Ability to Bend/Crouch/Lift/Kneel/Scrub/Etc. Repeatedly Throughout the Shift
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs repeatedly
- Ability to Use Pressure Washers/Foam Applicators/Steamers/Other Equipment
- This role will be required to travel at times (5%) for training purposes
