How you will make history here…

As the first dedicated Cloud FinOps Engineer you will lead cloud financial operations across Microsoft Azure environments, driving cost transparency, accountability, and optimization. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams—engineering, finance, and operations—to implement FinOps best practices, automate cost management workflows, and align cloud spending with business objectives. Your expertise in Azure services, billing models, and automation will enable the organization to make data-driven decisions, reduce waste, and maximize cloud value.

What you will do…

  • Lead the overall Cloud FinOps strategy and ensure that the organization optimizes cloud spending.

  • Analyze cloud usage data (e.g., billing APIs, cost and usage reports) to identify inefficiencies and savings opportunities.

  • Implement rightsizing strategies, eliminate idle resources, and enforce cost controls.

  • Manage cloud billing, including tracking usage patterns, analyzing cost reports, and ensuring accurate billing reconciliation.

  • Develop and maintain financial forecasting models for cloud costs, helping the organization predict future cloud expenses based on current usage patterns and anticipated growth.

  • Provide visibility into cloud expenses across business units and departments, ensuring that costs are allocated correctly (e.g., chargeback models).

  • Implement cost allocation strategies e.g., using tags, cost centers, and business units to assign cloud expenses to the appropriate teams or departments.

  • Use infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform) to enforce cost governance.

  • Ensure transparency in cloud usage by providing accurate and timely financial reports to key stakeholders, including executives, finance teams, and department leads.

  • Set up cloud financial dashboards that provide real-time visibility into costs, resource usage, and trends.

  • Develop financial reports and dashboards using Power BI and other tools that track cloud spending.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for cloud financial management, such as cloud cost trends, cost savings from optimization efforts, and cloud spending vs. budget.

  • Implement automation tools for tracking and reporting cloud usage and costs, helping streamline financial processes.

  • Use Cloud FinOps principles and tools to automate the financial management of cloud resources and provide real-time cost analysis.

  • Set up automated alerts for unexpected cost spikes, ensuring prompt action to prevent budget overruns.

  • Work with finance team to support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

Reporting directly to the Sr. Manager, Cloud Architecture & Engineer you will collaborate closely with other Cloud Engineers, Project Managers, Finance/IT Finance teams and Senior Leadership.

What you will bring to the table… (Must Have) 

  • Bachelor's Degree (Minimum Qualification)

  • 8+ years in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or FinOps roles

  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms and their billing models.

  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform)

  • Familiarity with cloud billing APIs, tagging strategies, and cost allocation models

  • Proficiency with Azure Cloud Cost Management, Power Bi reporting Tools.

  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Experience with automation frameworks and tools that help optimize cloud financial management processes.

  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure, services, and best practices to collaborate effectively with technical teams and identify areas for cost optimization.

It would be great if you have… (Nice to Have) 

  • Master's Degree Preferred

  • FinOps Certified Practitioner or similar certification is a plus.

  • Azure cloud certifications a plus.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell scripting.

  • Experience with IT financial management, budgeting and forecasting processes.


Compensation and Benefits: The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between

$133,000-$191,100

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
