Join the front lines of strategic retail innovation as a Senior Category Manager within the Walmart Category Management Team. This pivotal leadership role drives category growth through advanced analytics, deep shopper insights, and tailored merchandising solutions.
As both a Category Advisor and a Traditional Category Manager, you’ll serve dual functions:
Advisor Role: Lead high-impact initiatives, including store-specific planograms and customized merchandising strategies across Deli and Salty Snacks categories at Walmart. Guide Walmart’s merchandising decisions with shopper-centric, data-backed recommendations.
Category Manager Role: Own the line review process and craft persuasive, insight-driven category stories to influence Walmart’s strategic direction in commercial bakery.
You’ll collaborate closely with Walmart merchants and cross-functional partners to:
Decode shopper behavior and channel performance trends
Apply advanced analytics to uncover new growth opportunities
Deliver agile, actionable strategies that resonate at store level
What you will do...
Manages the modular relay process including the drawing of modulars
Provide strategic and tactical recommendations to Walmart buyers on Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising, and Pricing to improve category performance.
Provide support to Walmart Buyers in developing an integrated category strategy
Manage line reviews, assortment decisions, and shelving solutions
Build and deliver compelling category narratives grounded in insights and innovation
Leverage Scintilla data to develop and craft insights that drive category growth
Mentor and guide team members, cultivating a culture of learning and strategic thinking
Drive advancement of tools and capabilities that fuel smarter, faster decision-making
Foster strong, enduring relationships with Walmart partners through thought leadership and business acumen
Interacts with cross-functional teams to provide strategic actionable insights based on market data analysis and insights.
Provide input into customer planning cycle based on knowledge of category and shopper trends, competitive issues, etc.
Ability to serve as a trusted advisor to customer

Works closely with cross-functional groups including Buyers, Replenishment, Modular Planning, Space Planning, customer teams, and HQ category management.
What you bring to the table... (Must Have)
Bachelor’s Degree required
8+ years CPG industry experience, including 3+ years Category Management and drawing experience
Previous experience as a Category Advisor and drawing modular
Excellent analytical skills and attention to details
Robust communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to think strategically
Strong knowledge of the Walmart Modular Process (Preferably on Edibles and/or Consumables)
IRI and/or Nielsen (Advanced Panel and Scan data applications and software navigation)
Strong technical skills (ProSpace, Excel, Access, etc.)
Category, Consumer, and Shopper Knowledge (Kantar, Mintel, etc.)
POG software (JDA) understanding

This position works in a customer team office (hybrid 3 days) with approximately 10-20% travel required. Due to the nature of the position, modular work may require manual labor and heavy lifting not to exceed 30 pounds.
