The Food Safety & Quality Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of site Food Safety, Regulatory Compliance, and Quality Systems in alignment with Pepperidge Farm Quality Policies and CSC North America Quality standards.
This role serves as the site Quality leader, accountable for ensuring the highest standards of food safety, regulatory compliance, product quality, and consumer satisfaction. The position operates in a matrixed leadership environment, partnering closely with the Plant Manager and senior leadership team to drive alignment on Quality strategy, annual objectives, and plant priorities.
The role is both strategic and hands-on, responsible for deploying enterprise Quality programs, strengthening site capabilities, and embedding a culture of quality ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement across all functions.
What you will do...
Food Safety & Compliance Leadership
- Own and continuously improve site Food Safety and Quality Management Systems in alignment with corporate policies and regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, SQF/GFSI).
- Serve as the site subject matter expert on Food Safety, GMPs, Sanitation, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead internal and external audits (SQF, FDA, customer audits) and ensure audit readiness at all times.
- Ensure all non-conformances are investigated, documented, and resolved with robust corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Quality Systems & Process Excellence
- Drive end-to-end Quality systems including incoming materials, in-process controls, finished goods, and release protocols.
- Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate losses related to quality, waste, and rework.
- Implement and sustain Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability programs to improve consistency and performance.
- Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and R&D to embed quality into equipment, processes, and product design.
Consumer & Customer Quality
- Own the Consumer Complaint program, including trend analysis, root cause identification, and corrective actions.
- Drive initiatives focused on consumer delight and brand protection, ensuring product experience meets or exceeds expectations.
- Partner cross-functionally to translate consumer insights into product and process improvements.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead, coach, and develop the Quality team, establishing clear goals, performance expectations, and development plans.
- Build bench strength and technical capability across the site to ensure sustainable Quality ownership at all levels.
- Foster a high-performance, accountability-driven culture aligned with the Campbell leadership model.
Cross-Functional Influence & Site Leadership
- Act as a key member of the plant leadership team, influencing decisions across Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
- Drive alignment between Quality strategy and plant operational priorities.
- Partner with Supply Chain, R&D, and Corporate Quality teams to standardize best practices and drive innovation.

What you will bring to the table... (Must Have)
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of progressive Quality leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment
- Quality Systems and Audit experience
- FDA/USDA regulatory compliance
It would be great if you have... (Nice to Have)
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of Quality leadership experience in food manufacturing
