Quality Assurance Technician

Location: Hanover, PA

Shift: B Shift | 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM on a rotating AWS schedule (2-2-3)

Starting Pay: $22.50/hour + $2.00 Shift Differential

HOW YOU WILL MAKE HISTORY HERE…

As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring product quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance throughout the manufacturing process. By conducting inspections, analytical testing, and quality evaluations, you will help maintain product consistency, support continuous improvement, and ensure consumers receive safe, high-quality products every day.

WHAT YOU WILL DO…

  • Monitor production processes and product quality through sensory evaluation, weight control, and analytical testing to ensure compliance with established specifications, including color, moisture, pH, weight, and size.
  • Evaluate finished products for moisture, ingredient content, breakage, color, package fill, raw and finished weights, seal integrity, code date legibility, and overall quality.
  • Accurately perform, document, and maintain records of quality testing on incoming raw materials, in-process products, finished goods, and products supplied by external vendors.
  • Utilize laboratory and testing equipment for validation, verification, and calibration activities.
  • Communicate out-of-specification results, quality concerns, and product standards to production teams and QA/Production leadership.
  • Execute and monitor Food Safety and Food Quality Plans in accordance with SQF requirements and company standards.
  • Identify, investigate, and determine when non-compliant products should be placed on hold.
  • Coordinate product disposition and/or rework activities with leadership approval.
  • Monitor metal detection validation and verification programs.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while following all safety, hygiene, chemical handling, and lifting procedures.
  • Support additional quality and operational responsibilities as assigned.
  • Work mandatory overtime when required.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE… (MUST HAVE)

  • Ability to perform routine quality inspections and testing in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to escalate quality concerns appropriately.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may include noise, humidity, moving equipment, and varying conditions.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE… (NICE TO HAVE)

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing, production, food processing, or quality assurance environment.
  • Experience performing laboratory testing, product inspections, or quality control activities.
  • Knowledge of food safety, quality assurance programs, or SQF standards.
  • Experience working with quality testing and measurement equipment.

Physical & Work Environment Highlights

  • Standing, walking, and use of hands continuously throughout the shift.
  • Frequent climbing, lifting, carrying, and repetitive motion activities.
  • Occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, airborne particles, chemicals, and elevated work areas.
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical equipment and a loud manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to climb into trailers and walk on uneven surfaces to collect samples when required.

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
