How you will make history here...

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing projects that drive transformation and continuous improvement throughout our Pepperidge Farm bakery manufacturing plant. This role oversees capital and operational projects across multiple departments, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. The Project Manager works closely with internal teams and external contractors to align resources, minimize disruption to operations, and achieve project goals that enhance safety, quality, capacity, and efficiency.

What you will do...

• Project Planning & Execution

o Lead the planning and execution of transformation projects across the plant, from concept to completion.

o Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines in partnership with plant leadership.

o Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.

• Cross-Functional Coordination

o Work closely with operations, maintenance, quality, engineering, sanitation, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals align with plant priorities.

o Coordinate project activities to minimize impact on production schedules and food safety standards.

o Facilitate regular project meetings and status updates to keep stakeholders informed.

• Contractor & Vendor Management

o Serve as the main point of contact for contractors, vendors, and consultants.

o Oversee contractor onboarding, safety compliance, and adherence to plant rules and procedures.

o Negotiate timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful completion of work.

• Risk Management & Problem Solving

o Identify risks and develop mitigation plans to keep projects on track.

o Troubleshoot project challenges in real-time, making adjustments as needed to ensure successful execution.

• Budget & Reporting

o Manage project budgets, ensuring financial controls and cost-tracking are in place.

o Report on project progress, KPIs, and variances to plant leadership.

• Change Management & Communication

o Support change management initiatives related to project implementations.

o Develop clear communication plans to update leadership and frontline employees about upcoming changes.

• Continuous Improvement

o Identify opportunities to streamline project delivery and resource allocation.

o Standardize project management tools and templates to improve consistency and predictability across all initiatives.

What you will bring to the table... (Must Have)

  • Associate's Degree
  • 2+ years of experience managing capital or operations projects in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience coordinating with contracts and vendors
  • Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar).

It would be great if you have... (Nice to Have)

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4+ years of experience managing capital or operational projects in a food manufacturing or CPG environment
  • Familiarity with Lean, TPM, or Six Sigma principles a plus.
  • PMP or other project management certification


Compensation and Benefits: The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between

$74,100-$106,500

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
