Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Plant Services shift lead, this position will be responsible for all activities associated with the sanitation of food processing equipment, facility hygiene and master cleaning assignments. This includes adhering to GMP standards, chemical handling procedures, PPE requirements, and lockout tag out protocols. All required training must be completed within 3 months of hire. Position will require the individual to work most weekends and must be willing to take not-scheduled days at any time throughout the week to support sanitation cleaning schedules. This position is eligible for progression to Plant Services Specialist position after required training has been completed and if employee remains in good standing.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
This individual will be primarily responsible for sanitizing tools and equipment across the plant, cleaning equipment during shift changeovers, performing janitorial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, refilling dispensers, etc., operating floor scrubbers and other cleaning equipment, and following all safety and sanitation protocols. Must be able to safely operate cleaning tools and equipment, use high-pressure hoses, compressed air and cleaning chemicals, complete required safety training (Chemical Safety, Combustible Dust, Confined Space), participate in safety programs (SBOs, F-Tags, incident reporting), Maintain flexibility and communicate with shift leads when tasks are complete, work around allergens (nuts, flour etc.), obtain certifications for forklift, scissor lift, boom lift, wave lift, and work at heights up to 40 feet using fall protection. Additionally they will complete other tasks as assigned by the Sanitation Manager or Plant Services Lead. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and move up to 50 lbs repeatedly, and reach, climb and maintain balance at heights. Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or GED and/or 1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Prior experience in sanitation, janitorial work, or food processing is preferred but not required

Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The starting rate for this full-time, hourly position is $22.65.
