As a Packaging Machine Operator, you will play a vital role in producing safe, high-quality food products by operating and monitoring packaging equipment. Your attention to quality, safety, equipment performance, and food manufacturing standards will help ensure products are packaged accurately and efficiently while meeting customer and regulatory requirements.
WHAT YOU WILL DO…
Operate packaging equipment safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures.
Produce packaged products that meet production schedules and customer specifications.
Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
Inspect finished products to ensure proper seals, accurate coding, legible printing, and compliance with quality standards.
Understand and perform machine setup, changeovers, and sanitation activities.
Ensure equipment is properly lubricated and maintained according to operating procedures.
Monitor equipment to verify products are being processed and packaged according to specifications.
Report product quality concerns, equipment issues, malfunctions, or safety hazards to supervision.
Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and other safety requirements.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including around machinery and electrical panels.
Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adhere to all GMP, USDA, food safety, and sanitation requirements.
Complete required production documentation, including downtime logs and operational records.
Perform light preventative maintenance activities as assigned.
Support production start-ups and changeovers to ensure timely operations.
Perform other duties as assigned by team leadership.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE… (MUST HAVE)
Ability to communicate effectively in a manufacturing environment.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to use a calculator and complete production-related calculations.
Ability to work safely around moving machinery and follow operating procedures.
Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally climb steps or stairs.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently lift between 20 and 40 pounds.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to follow GMPs, USDA requirements, sanitation standards, and food safety procedures.
Ability to follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Commitment to quality, safety, and productivity standards.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Work Environment
Manufacturing environment with moving machinery and equipment.
Exposure to hot, cold, and refrigerated products.
Moderate to loud noise levels.
Wet and potentially slippery floor conditions.
Requires awareness of surroundings and safe work practices at all times.
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE… (NICE TO HAVE)
Previous food manufacturing or packaging experience.
Experience operating production or packaging equipment.
Familiarity with machine setup, troubleshooting, and changeovers.
Experience performing basic preventative maintenance activities.
Knowledge of USDA regulations, GMPs, and food safety requirements.
Understanding of quality control processes in a manufacturing environment.
Experience reviewing production documentation and downtime tracking.
Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Pay: $16.55/hour
Shifts: 1st and 2nd shifts available
