Position: Material Handler
Hours: 5:45pm-6:15am
Pay: $21.40/hour + $0.50/hour Shift Differential

HOW YOU WILL MAKE HISTORY HERE…
As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in supporting warehouse operations by accurately receiving, storing, picking, and distributing materials and products throughout the facility. Your attention to detail, commitment to safety, and focus on inventory accuracy will help ensure efficient operations and timely product movement across the supply chain.
WHAT YOU WILL DO…
- Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions to determine materials that need to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Transport materials and products from receiving and production areas to storage locations and designated warehouse areas.
- Sort and place materials, products, and inventory on racks, shelves, or bins according to established storage procedures.
- Fill requisitions, work orders, and stock requests and distribute materials to production areas as needed.
- Assemble customer orders from inventory and prepare shipments on pallets.
- Label and identify materials accurately.
- Open bales, crates, containers, and other incoming shipments.
- Record quantities of materials and products received, distributed, and stored.
- Count and weigh products to ensure compliance with company standards and inventory accuracy requirements.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment after obtaining certification.
- Load and unload palletized and non-palletized products from trailers.
- Utilize manual and automated material handling equipment safely and effectively.
- Enter inventory, shipping, and receiving records into computer systems.
- Take photographs of incoming and outgoing loads for documentation purposes.
- Conduct cycle count inventories and maintain inventory accuracy when required.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas by removing debris and storing supplies in designated locations.
- Keep aisles, exits, and workspaces clear and free of obstructions.
- Follow established safety, hygiene, housekeeping, and personal protection procedures.
- Report workplace injuries, safety concerns, and defective equipment immediately.
- Work at elevated heights, including material tanks and tank trailers, when required.
- Support Continuous Improvement initiatives, including 5S (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Mandatory overtime may be required based on business needs.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE… (MUST HAVE)
- High School Diploma or GED and/or one year of production experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
- Ability to pass a basic math skills assessment.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
- Ability to read and understand production schedules, shipping documents, work orders, and inventory records.
- Basic computer skills and ability to accurately enter data into warehouse systems.
- Commitment to workplace safety and housekeeping standards.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations.
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE… (NICE TO HAVE)
- Previous warehouse or distribution experience.
- At least one year of experience in a warehouse environment.
- Previous forklift operating experience.
- Experience using Oracle or a similar Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Experience with inventory control, cycle counting, and warehouse documentation processes.
- Experience loading and unloading trailers in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Familiarity with Continuous Improvement methodologies and 5S practices.
- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing or logistics operation.

This position operates primarily in a warehouse environment. Noise levels are generally moderate on the warehouse floor and quieter in office areas. Temperatures are ambient and may fluctuate with seasonal weather conditions. Employees should be comfortable working around material handling equipment, warehouse traffic, and changing environmental conditions while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, accuracy, and operational excellence.

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
