Position: Material Handler
Location: 1705 Midwest Drive, Plainfield, IN 46168
Pay: $21.40/hour
Shift: 1st Shift
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Starting times and hours may vary based on staffing needs, production schedules, and holiday coverage. Mandatory overtime may be required.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE HISTORY HERE…

As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in maintaining efficient warehouse and production operations by accurately receiving, storing, picking, and distributing materials and products throughout the facility. Your focus on safety, inventory accuracy, and operational excellence will help ensure products move efficiently from receipt to production and shipment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO…

  • Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions to determine material movement needs.
  • Receive, store, pick, transport, and distribute materials and products throughout the facility.
  • Move materials from receiving or production areas to storage locations and designated work areas.
  • Sort and organize inventory on racks, shelves, and bins according to established storage requirements.
  • Fill requisitions, work orders, and stock requests to support production operations.
  • Assemble customer orders and prepare shipments by palletizing products.
  • Label materials and products with accurate identifying information.
  • Open bales, crates, containers, and incoming shipments as needed.
  • Record quantities of materials and products received, distributed, and stored.
  • Count and weigh products to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Safely operate forklifts and other manual and automated material handling equipment.
  • Load and unload palletized and non-palletized product from trailers.
  • Transport inventory throughout warehouse and production areas.
  • Enter inventory, shipping, and receiving information into computer systems.
  • Take photos of incoming and outgoing loads for documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Maintain clean work areas and remove trash and debris regularly.
  • Store supplies in designated locations and keep aisles and exits clear of obstructions.
  • Follow safe lifting and material handling procedures for products of varying sizes and weights.
  • Report workplace injuries, safety concerns, and defective equipment promptly.
  • Where applicable, climb and work at elevated material tank locations.
  • Inspect tank trailers, verify seals, and collect samples when required.
  • Assist with cycle count inventory activities and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives, including 5S (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE… (MUST HAVE)

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of production experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to accurately receive, store, move, and distribute materials and products.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
  • Ability to become certified and safely operate material handling equipment.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to electronically enter and maintain records.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, shipping documentation, and production schedules.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, housekeeping, and quality standards.
  • Ability to work overtime as required to support business needs.
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, drive equipment, and use hands throughout the shift.
  • Ability to frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally climb, stoop, kneel, and work at elevated heights.

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE… (NICE TO HAVE)

  • Previous warehouse or distribution experience.
  • At least one year of warehouse experience.
  • Previous forklift certification and operating experience.
  • Experience with Oracle or a similar Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Experience with inventory control, cycle counting, and warehouse documentation processes.
  • Experience loading and unloading trailers in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement and 5S practices.
Work Environment:
This position works primarily in a warehouse environment where noise levels are generally moderate on the warehouse floor and quieter in office areas. Temperatures are ambient and may fluctuate with seasonal weather conditions. Employees should be comfortable working around moving equipment and in a fast-paced warehouse setting.

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
