Summary
Responsible for assisting in planning, organization and supervision of the activities associated with third-shift sanitation. Will ensure the highest standard of cleaning occurs in accordance with USDA, Master Cleaning Schedule, PPE, Safety, and Good Housekeeping practices. Will ensure proper training/direction is provided to each individual and provide effective constructive feedback. Ensure equipment is properly covered, clean, and sanitized. Must meet on time start-up demands from production. Leads by positive example.
Requirements
Understands during cleaning; the equipment has moving parts and must ensure safety and quality always comes first. Does not stick/place any parts of the body into any moving part of the equipment. Must adhere to proper operating sanitation procedures for the equipment. Must understand that chemicals are being used to clean/sanitize, the proper use and storage of chemicals and PPE involved. Demonstrates a good mechanical aptitude. Respects co-workers and communicates effectively with personnel.
Qualifications
• Read and write English (Bilingual Preferred)
• Must have good interpersonal skills, basic mathematics, ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Stand, reach, bend and (climb steps/stairs occasionally); Lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
• Works well with others; ability to meet required demands on work/quality to support sanitation process. Works with minimum supervision. Ability to take charge and lead
• Understands and can demonstrate workable knowledge of chemical usage/cleaning
• Evaluation of performance is to take place within first 120 hours of beginning job.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the team member works around moving machinery. The team member is exposed to hot/cold/refrigerated conditions, loud noise, and wet floors, which may become slippery. Team member must be aware of their surroundings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned as needed.
• Trains team members on procedures, safety, cleaning chemicals, and equipment cleaning
• Conducts initial Pre-op from Sanitation perspective
• Provides guidance and assistance to team members in performing their job duties
• Ensures Master Cleaning Schedule is being followed.
• Provides leadership and motivation to foster teamwork amongst department
• Works closely with Production, Maintenance, Warehouse, and QA and communicates and issues or concerns to appropriate department of immediate supervisor.
• Provides feedback to supervisor on team member's performance
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Read and demonstrate understanding of cleaning chemicals used in their job role
• Understand they will be required to help out on other lines and areas as sanitation activities are required
Physical Demands and Work Environment
• Must be able to travel throughout Production areas
• Office and factory environment, including refrigerated warehouses
• Must be able to push, pull, and lift occasional heavy loads (50 lbs.)
• Must be able to work flexible hours based upon needs of Operation
• Must be able to operate Power Washers for cleaning if requiredHas working knowledge and skills developed through formal training or work experience; Works within established procedures with a moderate degree of supervision; Identifies the problem and all relevant issues in straightforward situations, assesses each using standard procedures and makes sound decisions
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The starting rate for this full-time, hourly position is $22.50 + $2.00 Shift Differential
