The Electrical Control Technician provides electrical and technical support to the facility with an emphasis on troubleshooting
existing electrical theory, as well as be proficient in programing and troubleshooting PLC and related systems. The control technician
will also be an ongoing part of the design and upgrading of new and existing equipment for continuous improvement.
What you will do…
- Provide technical assistance to maintenance personnel on electrical hardware and software to maintain and keep the plant in operation when breakdown occurs.
- Locate electrical/electric problem areas and design systems to improve operations of plant machinery.
- Redesign existing electrical systems when the present components are obsolete and no longer available.
- Coordinate the wiring of electrical equipment and components, maintain documentation to include all back up disks, electrical equipment manuals and updates the plant's specifications of usable electrical components.
- Assist in the training of plant personnel through empowerment of electrical personnel to ensure they are capable of maintain systems with minimum supervision, downtime, and loss of productivity.
- Develops new control concepts as required. Has responsibility for all control system designs.
- Understands and uses code for troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controller (PLC's), Human Machine Interface (HMI's), Variable Frequency Drive (VFD's) etc.
- Attends classes, seminars, and in-house training as needed to maintain skill level with changes in the industry.
- Follows all applicable Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) for area assigned.
- Maintains and uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with OSHA, food handling before and after equipment inspection and repair activities.
- Mandatory overtime may be required.

What you bring to the table… (Must Have)
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ yrs industrial PLC programming and troubleshooting experience
It would be great to have… (Nice to Have)
- Some college or formal technical school education is preferred.
- 2 + years electrical experience in a manufacturing environment. Where applicable, must pass an electrical comprehension test.
