Location: Delmar
Department: Warehouse
Pay: $21.40/hour
Shift: 1st Shift
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday | 5:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Starting times and hours may vary based on staffing coverage, production schedules, and holiday demands.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE HISTORY HERE…

As a Distribution Material Handler, you will play an important role in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of warehouse operations by receiving, storing, picking, loading, and distributing products and point-of-sale (POS) materials. Your commitment to safety, quality, and inventory integrity will help ensure products reach customers accurately and on time while supporting a clean and organized warehouse environment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO…

  • Accurately load and unload trailers containing palletized and non-palletized products and POS materials using manual and powered material handling equipment.
  • Sort and store products and materials in designated warehouse locations.
  • Pick and assemble customer orders, build pallets, wrap shipments with stretch film, and prepare products for distribution.
  • Label incoming products with identifying information, including date codes, product descriptions, product codes, and case counts.
  • Label outgoing shipments with route numbers, bin locations, and pallet counts.
  • Verify quantities of products and POS materials received.
  • Utilize RF scanning and voice-picking technology according to company operating guidelines.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport inventory throughout the warehouse.
  • Prepare and organize warehouse areas for cycle counts, inventory activities, and order fulfillment.
  • Complete daily power equipment inspection and maintenance checklists and report defective equipment.
  • Follow all safety, food safety, hygiene, and housekeeping procedures.
  • Maintain clean work areas and remove trash and debris as needed.
  • Store supplies in designated locations and keep aisles and exits clear of obstructions.
  • Follow safe lifting and material handling procedures for products of various sizes and weights.
  • Report workplace injuries, property damage, and equipment concerns promptly.
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives, including 5S (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE… (MUST HAVE)

  • High School Diploma or GED and/or one year of related experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Ability to accurately receive, store, move, and distribute products and materials.
  • Experience operating or ability to learn powered material handling equipment.
  • Ability to use RF scanners, voice-picking systems, and warehouse technology.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and company procedures.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, food safety, hygiene, and housekeeping standards.
  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach throughout the shift.
  • Ability to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift more than 100 pounds.
  • Ability to work in an environment with moving mechanical equipment and varying warehouse conditions.

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE… (NICE TO HAVE)

  • Previous warehouse, distribution, shipping, receiving, or material handling experience.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating powered industrial equipment.
  • Experience using RF scanners, voice-picking technology, or warehouse management systems.
  • Knowledge of inventory control, cycle counting, and order fulfillment processes.
  • Experience participating in Continuous Improvement or 5S initiatives.
  • Experience working in food manufacturing, consumer products, or distribution environments.
Work Environment:
This position regularly works around moving mechanical equipment and may occasionally be exposed to wet or humid conditions, airborne particles, chemicals, fumes, and outdoor weather conditions. Noise levels are generally moderate. Employees should be comfortable working in a physically active warehouse environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
