General Summary:
The primary responsibility of this position is to lead and advance our Category Leadership function to drive growth and improve performance for Campbell Snacks within Walmart and Sam's Club. Lead the development and delivery of high-impact category, shopper, and channel insights that accelerate category growth. This role supports the annual sales planning while acting as a strategic liaison to the HQ Category Leadership team. Owns Walmart and Sam's Club Category Management and Category Advisor responsibilities and drives team performance through clear goal setting and ongoing development of direct reports.
What you will do…
Primary Responsibilities:
• Translate Category Strategy into custom Walmart/Sam's category stories and growth initiatives Develop strong working relationships with Walmart and Sam's Buyers
• Manage a team of Advisors responsible for providing strategic and tactical recommendations to Walmart buyers on the Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising, and Pricing to improve category performance, and a team of Category Managers aimed at influencing Walmart/Sam's activations through account specific Insights
• Translate and synthesize consumer and shopper insights at the customer level
• Identify and activate against key Walmart/Sam's opportunities
• Identify growth opportunities for direct reports and team members
• Develop and deploy Category Leadership best practices
• Keep an eye towards future of Category trends, systems and best practices
Job Complexity:
• The Category Leadership Director will work to support Walmart and Sam's and will be responsible for building and executing custom category and shopper strategies that will drive growth for both Campbell's and Walmart/Sam's
• Works closely with cross-functional groups including Buyers, Replenishment, Modular Planning, Space Planning, customer teams, and HQ category management
• Ability to serve as a trusted advisor to customer
• Works cross-functionally with our HQ Internal sales, strategy, and marketing function
• This role will require strong leadership and influencing skills, professionalism, executive presence and prioritization skills
• Ensure close connection with field sales and Strategy teams and priorities
• Ensure close connection with Insights team and influence priorities and budgets

Managing 2 Director Reports & 7 indirect Reports
What you bring to the table… (Must Have)
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree required, master's degree preferred
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in CPG industry (Walmart and Sam's experience preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of Shopper Insights or Category Management experience
• 10+ years Circana or Nielson syndicated data experience (Scintilla experience preferred)
• Prior experience managing teams with a proven track record of inspiring a team to execute plans is required
Working Conditions:
• This position works out of the Campbell Sales office Tuesday through Thursday: 5100 JB Hunt Dr, Suite 100, Rogers, AR 72758, Monday and Friday are remote office days
• This position works in a customer team office with approximately 10-20% travel required.
• This role reports directly into the VP, Shopper Insights and Category Leadership
