Position: CDL Switcher / Shuttle Driver
Pay: $25.50/hour
Shift: Night Shift
Schedule: 6:15 PM - 6:15 AM

HOW YOU WILL MAKE HISTORY HERE…
As a CDL Switcher/Shuttle Driver, you will play a critical role in supporting warehouse and transportation operations by safely moving trailers, raw materials, and finished products between facilities. Your focus on safety, compliance, equipment care, and operational efficiency will help maintain uninterrupted product flow and support the overall success of warehouse operations.
WHAT YOU WILL DO…
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, straight trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Shuttle merchandise, raw materials, and trailers between facilities and designated locations.
- Complete local backhaul deliveries as needed.
- Move trailers to and from shipping and receiving dock areas safely and efficiently.
- Perform all DOT-required and company-required pre-trip inspections.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, trip reports, and trailer yard inventory records.
- Inspect trailer loads to ensure products are properly secured before trailer departure.
- Apply trailer seals and immediately address any shipment discrepancies.
- Assist with product movement between warehouse storage locations and trailers when required.
- Maintain dock areas and exterior warehouse grounds, including:
- Sweeping and debris removal
- Snow and ice removal as needed
- Inspection of trailer restraints
- Inspection of dock shelters, enclosures, bumpers, lighting, and related equipment
- Place required shipping documentation, including bills of lading and related paperwork, on outbound trailers.
- Perform general housekeeping duties, including retrieving pallets and maintaining clean work areas.
- Conduct light maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and housekeeping procedures.
- Store supplies in designated locations and report defective equipment.
- Report workplace injuries, property damage, and safety concerns immediately.
- Perform other duties, projects, and assignments as directed by warehouse leadership.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE… (MUST HAVE)
- High School Diploma or GED and/or one year of production experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Valid CDL Class A Driver's License.
- Valid DOT Medical Card.
- CDL Tank Vehicle Endorsement where applicable.
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to safely operate tractor-trailers, straight trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment.
- Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to maintain accurate logs, records, and transportation documentation.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, drive, and use hands throughout the shift.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to occasionally climb, stoop, kneel, and perform physical warehouse activities.
- Ability to work overnight shifts and flexible schedules as required.
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE… (NICE TO HAVE)
- Six months or more of tractor-trailer driving experience.
- Previous warehouse, distribution, transportation, or logistics experience.
- Forklift certification and operating experience.
- Experience working in manufacturing, food production, or distribution environments.
- Familiarity with shipping documentation, trailer yard management, and inventory processes.
- Experience performing routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety, GMP, and sanitation requirements.

Employees may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions while moving trailers, inspecting dock areas, and performing yard operations. Work includes operating vehicles and equipment, routine walking and standing, lifting materials, and maintaining dock and warehouse areas. A strong commitment to safety, DOT compliance, and operational excellence is essential.

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
