The Cafeteria & Employee Store Lead is responsible for the day-to-day management, compliance, and employee experience of the site cafeteria and employee store. This role ensures safe food handling, accurate inventory and financial controls, and a high-quality service experience that supports employee engagement and site culture. This role leads a small team, partners with vendors, and maintains compliance with all food safety, financial, and company standards.
What You Will Do…
• Oversee daily cafeteria and employee store operations, ensuring cleanliness, organization, food safety, and readiness for all shifts
• Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, stocking, rotation, and shrink control
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, OSHA/safety, and company policies
• Monitor and reconcile cash handling, point-of-sale (POS) transactions, vendor invoices, and financial reporting
• Partner with external vendors to ensure product availability, quality, pricing, and service expectations are met
• Lead and manage cafeteria/store team members, including scheduling, training, performance management, employee relations, and conflict resolution
• Provide hands-on operational support in the cafeteria and employee store during peak times or coverage gaps
• Support employee engagement initiatives by delivering a positive, inclusive, and customer-focused service experience
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align cafeteria/store operations with plant priorities
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and audit readiness for all compliance requirements
• Manage purchasing for cafeteria, employee store, and other designated site needs
• Manage cafeteria/store budget, including cost control and waste reduction
• Gather employee feedback to improve offerings and experience
• Serve as primary contact for audits related to food safety and operations
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and operations
What You Bring to the Table… (Must Have)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1–3 years of experience in food service, retail, or operations
• Basic computer skills
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
It Would Be Great if You Have… (Nice to Have)
• Experience in manufacturing or high-volume environment
• Food safety certification (ServSafe preferred)
• Experience with cash handling and reconciliation
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience
