1st Shift Quality Coordinator - $31/hour

LOCATION: Bloomfield, Connecticut
BASE RATE PER HOUR: $31.00
SHIFT: 1st
HOURS: Generally, starts as early as 5am with overtime on an as needed basis based on business needs. Starting times and hours may vary depending on coverage due to report-offs and the production schedule especially during holidays. Good attendance and punctuality required.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Daily QA factory audit and process verification (CTQ and PC procedures)
•    First point of contact to respond to all Food Safety and Quality incidents on off shifts
•    Track and process finished product holds and dispositions using SAP warehouse inventory management system.
•    Process vendor non-conformances in SAP
•    Assist with analytical testing.
•    Support the environmental swab program and laboratory testing.
•    Analytical Instruments and Equipment verification, maintenance & calibration
•    Verification of records (FS Process Controls, Quality Points, ext.)
•    Filing and management quality records
•    Maintain electronic quality data, support in trending and analyzing data.  
•    Daily product evaluation setup and lead product evaluation.
•    Support quality and food safety training
•    Other duties as assigned to support all QA Dept. roles in managing Food Safety and Quality systems
 
EDUCATION and/ or EXPERIENCE
•    HS Diploma or Equivalent is required
•    Bachelor’s degree in food science, or related field, is preferred
•    1-3 years previous manufacturing, quality or food safety experience is preferred
•    Strong interpersonal skills are required.
•    Must have knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
 
Work Conditions:
•    8-12 Hour shift, overtime required. Weekdays, weekends, and holidays may be required. Employees will receive 2 fifteen-minute breaks and one-half hour lunch break. 
•    Environment – Noise levels will be high; temperature will be climate controlled in some areas and equal to ambient temperature in other areas. Lighting is sufficient and floors can be slippery.
 
Compensation and Benefits:
The starting rate for this full-time, hourly position is $31.00.
